Congratulations! You have reached the final step of the home buying or selling process. However, before you can officially close on your new house, there are a few things you will need to bring with you to the closing table. This blog post will provide an overview of what documents and items you should bring with you to the closing so that everything goes smoothly.

The Buyer's Checklist

For buyers, there are a few important documents and items that you'll need to bring with you for a successful closing. These include:

  • A valid form of identification such as a driver’s license or passport.
  • A cashier’s check made out to cover any remaining balance on your purchase plus any additional fees that may arise. It is important to make sure the check is made out correctly and in the correct amount in order for the closing process to move forward without any issues.
  • Your final walkthrough checklist (if applicable) so that all property conditions are as agreed upon in writing prior to closing day.

The Seller's Checklist

For sellers, there are also some items you'll need to bring with you in order for everything to go smoothly at closing.

  • These include:
  • A valid form of identification such as a driver’s license or passport.
