Every year, the American Kennel Club (AKC) releases a list of the most popular dog breeds in America. The list is compiled using data from the AKC's registration statistics. This year, the Labrador Retriever reclaims the top spot after being dethroned by the French Bulldog in 2020. Here are the top 10 most popular dog breeds in America for 2021, according to the AKC.

#5 American Staffordshire Terrier - 35,825 registrations

Labrador Retrievers have been the most popular breed in America for 29 years in a row! They are loyal, obedient, and good-natured dogs that make great family pets. They are also relatively easy to train and are known for being food-motivated—which comes in handy when trying to teach them tricks! 

French Bulldogs are the second most popular breed in America. They are friendly, affectionate dogs that get along well with children and other pets. They do not need a lot of exercise and are content to lounge around the house all day. They are also relatively easy to groom—a big plus for busy families! 
 

If you're looking for a new furry friend to add to your family, you can't go wrong with one of these popular breeds.
